Fuel Your Runs Right
Hydration
I’m ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with Nuun Hydration Products! I fell in love with these products at the beginning of 2019, and they’ve been a huge part of my hydration strategy since. Also, I got selected in 2020 to be a Nuun Ambassador.
When you need to replenish your electrolytes without all the calories of a sports drink, Nuun Hydration is perfect for the task. The tubes are convenient to carry, the flavor is great, and the calories are low so you can drink as many as you need/want! Nuun Sport, Immunity, Rest, and Vitamins are all 10-15 calories per serving. I seriously drink Nuun all day long. There are a few different types of Nuun, all obviously named for their purpose.
Long Run Hydration & Fueling: Nuun Endurance is higher in calories, and designed with carbohydrates to fuel endurance athletes during extended efforts (such as your long run).
Energy Gels/Chews
One of my favorite gels for fueling long runs are Honey Stinger Gels. They have some great flavors, are gentle on my stomach, and east-to-use. One caveat: you must love honey to use these gels. Click Here
My latest obsession is Honey Stinger Chews. They taste amazing and the fact that 160 calories is split into 12 chews per packages makes it easy to spread your fueling out by taking 2-3 chews every couple miles rather than an entire gel at once. It’s a great way to keep your stomach at ease! Click Here
Post-Run Recovery
Honey Stinger Protein Bars are a quick, convenient option for a post-run bar with 190-200 calories, 10 grams of protein, and gluten-free ingredients. Click here
Herbalife24 Rebuild Strength is perfect to support the repair and recovery of your muscles immediately after your workout. The carbohydrate blend supports the delivery of amino acides for muscle synthesis to help enhance muscle recovery. Drink it within 30 minutes of finishing your run. It helps me fend off the crazy hunger that most runners experience right after finishing a run, plus it helps get the nutrition my muscles need to jump-start the repair and recovery process. Best Running Clothing
Compression Socks
PRO Compression provides premium quality compression socks perfectly suited for running. Their graduated compression products improve circulation to promote recovery and reduce muscle soreness. I keep a pair for running every day of the week, plus an extra pair to wear for recovery after my long run!
Plus, they come in just about every crazy color you can imagine. Click here
Running Tights
I literally dread looking for new running tights or capris when my old ones wear out. So many leggings out there are made of poor quality fabric, fall down my wide hips, or show a massive sweat spot that makes it look like I wet myself.
I found the “Queenie Ke Women Power Flex Yoga Pants Workout Running Leggings” on Amazon and figured I’d give them a shot. They turned out great! My sweat doesn’t show through, they sit comfortably in all the right places without riding anywhere they shouldn’t, and these are my favorite long run tights for crisp mornings!
Bonus: they don’t break the bank. Click here
Prefer to have pockets? I found these IUGA High Waist Leggings. They’re comfortable, and they have POCKETS! Perfect for stashing a few gels during a race if you don’t feel like carrying a hydration belt or vest. Click Here
Sports Bra
Sports bras are difficult to get right, and they can be really expensive if you get one that doesn’t work for you. I’m constantly trying out different ones, and I REALLY like this style. The material is soft, and there isn’t a wire or seam to rub. Plus, they do a great job of keeping the girls in place. Click Here
Best Running Gear
Running Watch
If you’re looking for a running watch, the best place to start is the Garmin Forerunner 35. You can read my full overview on the Garmin Forerunner 35 here, or you can just head over to Amazon and check out the awesome running features it has for a great price! Click here
I recently upgrade to a Garmin Vivioactive 3 and I LOVE IT! It has some extra features for activity tracking such as strength training and it can even track my downhill skiing accurately. I bought the rose gold one, and it looks great no matter what I’m wearing. Perfect for my long runs or a dress-up evening! Click Here
Running Belt
When I started running more than 6 miles on my long runs, I needed something to conveniently carry water with me. URPOWER’s Running Belt is simple, easy-to-use, and stays where it’s supposed to. This makes it easy for me to take my sports drink, water, and energy gels with on all my long runs. This belt is perfect for distances 6-12 miles, and works great for half marathon races where I can supplement with water from aid stations. Click here
Running Hydration Vest
As my long runs started to increase in distance, I required the ability to carry more hydration with me. I bought the Ultimate Direction Women’s Race Vesta, and it was everything I had hoped for! The Body Bottles on the front have been perfect so far up to 15 miles, and I also purchased the optional bladder to go in the back for extra water on even longer distances or hot days when the weather warms up. Headphones
I have a pair of Bose SoundSport headphones that honestly work great. They connect to my phone via Bluetooth and allow my arms to stay free of cords while I’m on the run. Plus, I can control the volume and pause/play my tunes from the controller up by my ear.
After I had my first pair for about a year and a half, they started turning off/not connecting to my phone via Bluetooth. I called Bose and they sent me a new set of headphones for free in less than a week! Shout-out to Bose for great customer service, I love these headphones! Click here
Armband
When you want to keep your phone on your arm, plus have a spot to put your ID, a card, and maybe even a key, this is the armband for it! This armband makes it easy for me to keep all of my essentials on me while freeing up my hands, even on short runs. Click here
Sunglasses
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve no doubt seen me sporting my favorite pair of Oakley Half Jacket sunglasses. I went with the Prism lenses, and I’m glad I did! These things let you see the world in full color, all while keeping your face relaxed and the sun out of your eyes. Plus, the athletic design wraps around your head and keeps them in place so they don’t bounce. Click here to Design Your Custom Oakley’s

Update Your Mattress
Mattresses are one of those things we don’t really think about unless they’re causing an issue. The problem with that is we often don’t recognize that we had an issue until we know how good we’re SUPPOSED TO feel. If you mattress is more than 5 years old, it’s past time for an upgrade! My husband and I updated our mattress to a Tuft & Needle mattress, and we were AMAZED at how well we slept!
